Building a County-Based Future: Tech, Talent & Economic Power

By Greg Holmes, Executive Director, Norman F. Holmes Foundation

As a lifelong resident of Prince George’s County and a business leader deeply rooted in this community, I’ve made it my mission to ensure that opportunity, innovation, and prosperity are not just concepts we chase, but realities we create right here at home.

At the Norman F. Holmes Foundation, we’re not waiting for change. We’re engineering it.

That’s exactly what we set in motion at the Prince George’s Finance & Technology Forum on May 22nd - our second major effort this year, following the impactful Prince George’s Business & Economic Imperative held on March 5th. That event laid the groundwork for strategic dialogue; the Forum turned ideas into action.

Activating an Ecosystem That Works for Us

The Finance & Technology Forum functioned as a launchpad. In collaboration with our dynamic partner, Nudawn Marketing Group, we brought together financial institutions, tech innovators, government leaders, and local entrepreneurs to explore how Prince George’s can not only keep pace with the digital economy - but lead it.

Highlights included:

Financial institutions helping small, minority-owned businesses understand how to prepare for real capital access—not just compliance. Technology leaders in cybersecurity, AI, and quantum sharing what’s next, and how local firms can plug into future-forward industries. Higher education leadership  demonstrating how Prince George’s Community College is preparing talent pipelines in AI and emerging tech, ensuring no one gets left behind.

This was an ecosystem in motion—powered by intention, equity, and execution.

A Partnership That Delivers

Working with Nudawn Marketing was a strategic advantage. Their ability to build an environment where stakeholders not only connect but also collaborate, made the event both memorable and meaningful. This is how we shift the narrative in Prince George’s from waiting for opportunity to building it ourselves.

What’s Next: Investing in Our Own

The momentum continues. We remain steadfast in our commitment to launch a new Technology Ecosystem that creates a next-generation hub for technology mergers/acquisition, innovation labs and venture capital investments which will foster a tech destination activation in Prince George’s County

Final Word

The Norman F. Holmes Foundation was created to push boundaries and build bridges. We are not here to wait for inclusion. We’re here to ensure Prince George’s County has the infrastructure, access, and leadership needed to own our place in the economy of tomorrow.

If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and be part of something bigger, we’re ready to welcome you to the table.

Let’s build what we deserve…TOGETHER.
